Nige has only had the car a short time, it is an 1988 GT with 96.000 miles on it, with
full service history and MOT's from new, a really really shiny black. The car has no
modifications except for an alarm and years worth of polish, and some seat covers
which the previous owner had put in to protect the interior, He is changing to black
covers. Nige is intending to keep the car as standard as possible, I even sourced the
Scirocco centre for the steering wheel and an original gear knob with the letter E
instead of the number 5 for fifth gear. He loves the car, during the week he drives a
New Mondeo but at the weekend the scirocco comes out of the garage for a few hours, it's great.

He comes from Doncaster and has an 86 GTX with an Audi 2.0 16v 6a engine an unfinished project that Chris bought, first seen when Chris
went to view it on bricks no suspension or anything. He is now trying to get her alive but it is proving hard work ,keeps getting
very disheartened. He has got the imported manifold with a g60 throttle body...but every time
he checks wiring diagrams to compare...everything misleads everything else.

A 'mature' boy racer, he's had his GTi for 6 years now and is doing as much to it as he can. He lives in Southampton.
and...
that's about it.
It is a 1983 GTi, this probably makes it one of the older MkII's still on the road. It did nearly 200k on the old engine
(till he blew it up racing a BMW M3 from the lights). The recon has only done about 10k so far.

Born in London but moved to the Midlands some years ago. He have always loved Scirocco's - he has no idea why it has taken him so long to
buy his 89 F 1800 GT - in fact he liked it so much he bought a G reg off ebay (for spares). He bought a few VW magazines and was put off
by the Golf owner's attitudes to Rocco's - so is really glad to find a club devoted to his favourite VW model.
Apart from a thorough clean and quick polish - he haven't done much to the body work - there's a couple of battle scars on the doors
and front near side wing. He first concentrated on making sure she would stop as the brakes were non-existent as were the handbrake
cables. Future plans include the B&W Scala interior (if he can find one) refurbed BBS alloys from the G reg and as many engine mods
as he can afford (K&N's - strut brace etc) - He is going for a relatively stock look with a few advantages under the bonnet -
Skynet can be contacted at
skynet1962@hotmail.com.
Skynet (Phil) is based in North Manchester and says he is always up for a meet or run out. His scirrocco, Rosie is his first
after 2 polos and 3 Golfs, he now sees what he has been missing all these years!
"Rosie" is a 1990 GT-II in tornado red and runs fine since he had the fuel filler neck replaced and system cleaned out!

From Huddersfield he has an 80 GLS in Riverblau Metallic. Owned it since '95 when he saw it parked up in a cul-de-sac and went door
knocking... Its the third mk1 he's owned, and he's vowed never to part with it. Unfortunately, time has taken its toll on her,
and she's now sat in the garage half completed until he has the time and money to finish her...You know the story, started with a
quick fettle, ended up as a full blown resto...New sills, inner & outer wings, rear arches, front panel, rear panel... etc.
If anyone knows of a mint/good drivers door for a mk1, please contact him at ...
Modificatons are subtle, but effective... Lowered 40mm
Binned the ashmatic 1.6 carb engine in favour of a 1.8 engne and box from a battered Mk1 Scirocco GTI I bought.
Swapped in a weekend including replacing all fuel lines, tank loom etc. Same car also donated Black Leather interior
OZ Super Turismo 15" alloys.
