He bought his Scirocco for 75 quid as a non runner, (his son is a mechanic) minus ALL the core plugs, and covered in -----p,
with a grotty roof rack. They gave it a good wash & brush, replaced the core plugs & spark plugs. 10 pounds, and it ran,
sweet as a nut. They have changed the wheels for -50/15s that they had lying around. IT is SID, a 1.6 GT '86 with 106k on it.
When his health permits, he hopes to put a 1.8 (being rebuilt as we speak),in and see what happens!!
Scallyburd unfortunately doesn't make his email address available for private emails from forum members
This is his first rocco' which he purchased in Jan this 2003, an 84' Scala, with one owner from new,
92k full VW s/h £250!!!!!! What a Bargain Hoping to find clear front indicators at a sensible price.
Scallyburs is also interested in personalising the car with a bodykit.
Roccocraig aka as Craig Barrett lives in the Bath area and can be contacted at
craigpbarrett@hotmail.com.
Was given his Scirocco Scala by a work mate after his new wife was less than impressed
when it sat in their garden for a year. The spec of 1986 scala (white) with spax supsension,
eibash anti roll bars and strut braces, polybushed, Audi quatro front calipers and larger
discs (don't know off of what though?), full sebring exhaust, K&N stubby filter and a kent cam,
fitted with GTX alloys. In spite of the cars inactivity, it only required a
new battery for it to fire into life (even though the petrol; was a year old).
All it needed for the MOT was a new set of brake pads and which time it was also serviced.
It is now Craig's everyday car and covers 500 miles a week.
TheReverendPimpDaddy aka Geoff lives in the Nantwich area of Cheshire he can be contacted
at unclegeoff@msn.com.
This is Geoff's 1st Scirocco a 1989 Scala in Alpine white, as Geoff says in
good nick for the money no rust, just needed a good clean and polish.
Geoff is going through his second childhood, has never had so much fun in a
car for years, better keep his foot off the gas to many speed camera's around.
Plans for the cars future include 9x16 Borbet alloys, mirror polished 16v engine, bought
but not yet polished, complete with port & polished head, shrick cams.
4 branch manifold, bought but waiting for rainy weather to stop so he can install it
and finally saving up for Rieger GTO Evolution body kit
D Funk can be contacted at the-funk@funk-hq.freeserve.co.uk.
'Team Funk' are the proud owners of this 'K' Reg Scirocco GTII. At first the lifespan of "The Beastie" looked tenuous
at best, however, after some notification of the rarity of 'K' plate Roccos and plenty of encouragement she once again,
returned to the Southern Roads!
Needless to say, there have been some minor alterations, including a magnum exhaust, D Funk likes to let people know
when he's arriving!
A newly installed weber carb - the two spare Pierburgs in the garage failed him!
and a completely new set of brakes - standard, but its nice to be able to stop once in a while - without drifting and hoping!!!
Interior entertainment comes courteous of a Kenwood head unit with a six stack CD unit;
They are planning some internal "custom extras" exclusive purely to the Beastie, which will be in good taste they promise

His first rocco which is a 1989 1.6GT. He bought it for £500 with only 54K on the
clock!!!!!! He's already started to modding band wagon and spent part of his
student loan on some 15" alloys for it. He's also put in a Pipercross air
filter and by now should have his new 40mm lowering springs, with the plan,
if the insurance company don't go overboard, of getting a Weber Carb fitted.

jsebc aka John can be contacted at
jsebc@tiscali.co.uk.
John bought the car in 2003 from S Wales. During the last 9 years restoration work has been done.
Its done about 100K but the instruments have been changed about 3 times so it reads 80K. During
the restoration there where numerous modifications carried out including: Mk2 Discs all-round,
MK2 Servo, New gear box, engine balanced, ported and matched, head and bottom end, four branch
manifold, full stainless exhaust, uprated lighting system, Autocavan crossover brake system.
Most engine parts stove-enamalled wheels stove enamaled, plus the usual: new carpets through-out,
new bumpers, new doors, new parcel shelf, new dash, most items re-conditioned(alternator etc),
paint !!! John has a thing about MK1's and decided to buy the best I could and keep it forever!!
I am using it as a daily driver for work and although it is in good nick there are
still a few improvements to make. He is looking for an original MK1 radio complete
with trim and I need a few rubber exterior trim.
