VWINBITS is Chris Pears is from near Edinburgh and can be contacted at rpears@btinternet.com. His car is a 1.8i Scala with 84k mileage and few mods as yet. Only a Bonrath grill spoiler and a new stereo. Mods to come: Rial VD wheels (en route from Germany), bigger brakes, lower strut brace, 30mm drop & maybe a few other little quirks. He has had the car since September last year, having got bored with the Golf 2 Driver he had before then, wanting something faster, and different. He's just been doing the basic maintenance stuff to it until now, but soon the fun really begins.

RedRocco is a 1988 Scala at james@dbdouglas.demon.co.uk There is 165k on the clock and has been very reliable and a great workhorse, the boot is huge once the back seats are out, shame about the high lip though. He reckons Scirocco's are one of the best value coupes about today and styling that still looks good. When it does finally die it will definitely be replaced with another Scirocco.

Rocco_Central aka Jay can be contacted at rocco-central@fsnet.co.uk. This is his second Scirocco, a 1990 GT2 in Tornado Red. The car was bought in March 2003 as a non runner for £150. Spent £34 on the immobiliser and it started first time. It's quite low spec for a late Scirocco. No fancy electrics or sun roof. Work done so far:- Pillaged the full supersprint exhaust system, BBS 14' DTM style Wheels and stereo, from the wreck of the GTX. And fitted the lot. Small things such as removing the front fogs, de stripping the sides and generally giving it a damn good polish and service. The future? well he has a webber (of sorts) but there will definitely be one fitted in the near future. One helluva lotta love and attention on it. Just fitted 15' Corrado alloys from my friend so the 14' are up for sale.
